Green Card Rules

Green card rules are framed such that only genuine entrants enjoy the right to live and work in the U.S. with merits of enjoying benefits equal to any U.S. citizen apart from the privilege of voting and holding federal positions. Perhaps, green card rules are to be strictly followed and it is very important since any mistake may cause disqualification and failure to obtain a green card. Generally, green cards are obtained with legal assistance or under the guidance of an agent.

Green card is the permanent resident card attesting lawful permanent residence that is essential to stay in the USA for indefinite periods of time in order to continue to live there and continue study or work or whatever for long periods.

The primary governing green card rule is that any foreign citizen cannot by himself initiate the green card process unless receiving a call from a U.S. citizen or green card holder.

The process of submitting application form and the documents required by each individual varies with lots of branched documentation and formalities. The USCIS recurrently modifies the number limits of green card applicants, the application submission dates, the application processing time, the processing fees and documentation requirements as amended by the Embassy from time to time.

Green card entitles unlimited stay and working in USA. Green card gives you the official immigration status; however you may not qualify to vote or occupy federal positions despite multiple green card renewals.

Applicants for U.S. citizenship are interviewed once their application is rated as eligible. The Visa officer decides if the applicant is threatening or friendly to the American society. The interview is enabled to judge the real motive of the person entering the U.S.

Green Card holders have to follow immigration law strictly and should be properly registered with the United States government. They will have to renew their green card before the date of expiry; however, the expiry date does not end the chances of living in the U.S. incase you fail to renew. In events where your card has an expiry date it is better to renew your card duly.

Green card rules are subject to changes every flashing seconds. There are many alarming notifications given to applicant who literally go perplexed with the sudden rules. But all is for the benefit of the US after the 9/11 incident and for best survival of entrants. Survival of the fittest in the tough game!
