Rights to vote with US Citizenship: The citizens of Columbia and the 50 states of the U.S. who are adults have the right to cast votes. The eligible citizens can hold All Federal Bench Office Positions. Citizens who are jailed in for felony do not have the right to own; though they are still citizens. U.S. citizens do not require special permission or immigration papers to travel within the U.S. U.S. Citizens should satisfy residency requirements like not being part of insular area or nonresident expatriate areas in order to represent the congress elections. Duties demanded by US Citizenship: Pay taxes as applicable. In case the citizen earns foreign revenues there is a certain limit of exception to pay taxes as one is bringing in more money to the country, but that has limitations for exception as delineated by law. There are income tax credits for foreign earnings. They can serve in the legal bench of jury if they do qualify. US citizens are supposed to travel in and out of the US with the US passport even if they do hold nationality of another country. U.S. adult males aged 18 are supposed to register with Selective Service System to qualify for the army. It is pretty compulsory though of late most have not been forced in to the army. How can one get a US Citizenship? Children who are born in US who have a proof of birth certificate are considered US citizens by birth. Children born abroad to US citizens –if both parents were US citizens or at least one parent is a US citizen at the time of the child’s birth. But the birth of such children should be registered with the US consulate in that nation for proof of US citizenship. US citizenship can also be approved by the naturalization process. How can one get a US citizenship by naturalization? People with legal permanent resident’s status for 5 years or less than 90 days from 5 years. If they acquired LPR by marriage then the time span is 3 years or less than 90 days from 3 years. A good moral character and English knowledge and passing of US Citizenship Test, a must for such cases. The applicant should be 18 years of age at the time of filing.
